The Amherst Writers & Artists’ philosophy

is simple: every person is a writer, and every writer deserves a safe environment in which to experiment. AWA workshops follow a proven method that affirms writers by building confidence, creating an atmosphere of equal exploration, and protecting confidentiality.

About the facilitator: Janine Kovac

Janine Kovac has been a certified teacher of the AWA method since 2013. Elements of her book SPINNING: Choreography for Coming Home were originally written in the AWA workshops taught by Cary Tennis and by AWA founder Pat Schneider. She credits AWA with helping her establish a solid writing routine and finding homes for the little stories that get lodged in her brain.
