Hugo House presents: Scrivener Fundamentals

(Thank you to Amy and Aubrey at Hugo House for the snappy text!)

Use Scrivener but feel like you could be getting more out of the software?

In this class, we’ll take a progressive approach and cover useful and necessary tools for every phase of the writing process: ideation and generative writing, revision, incorporating feedback, compilation, and finally, submission.

We’ll start by refreshing ourselves in the basics: index cards, labels, and formatting settings. Then, we’ll move into lesser-known tools like bookmarks, keywords, and character templates. Along the way, we’ll practice using these tools together to build familiarity with the software.

You’ll leave with a stronger understanding of how Scrivener can support your writing process from start to finish so you have more bandwidth for what matters most: your writing.

This class is the second in a Scrivener Fundamentals series. Participation in Scrivener Fundamentals I is not necessary, though this course is best suited for students with some familiarity with Scrivener.
